“The most decent dance you’ll find for free at one URL right now” – Guardian

Following on from the success of our flagship 2020 digital programme, ZOO TV, we’re making big plans to bring ZOO TV back for 2021. We’re officially open for applications: if you have an idea for a digital or online project that you think could be the perfect addition to our programme, we want to hear from you. We’re specifically interested in projects built for an online environment to complement the ZOO TV programme.

In 2020, ZOO TV had over 30,000 viewers from all over the world during our two-week programme of over thirty shows. Featured in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Times, the Stage and on the front cover of the Scotsman, ZOO TV was the culmination of 20 years’ of free-thinking and innovative programming from ZOO at the Edinburgh Fringe. The programme featured companies we have long histories with and some of the most exciting emerging artists on the Fringe.

The ZOO TV programme will be limited to a small number of shows. There will be an up-front charge of £150 made to each participating company, in order for ZOO to cover running costs. In exchange for this, companies will get: all box office proceeds, PR and marketing support (last year our in-house PR team secured coverage for shows in the New York Times, Times, Guardian and Scotsman), your show hosted on the new and improved ZOO TV website and digital ushers to help audience members during performances.
